How to Choose Your Size

Start With the Product Type

Gloves, bats, batting gloves, helmets, catcher’s gear, pants, and apparel use different measurements, so begin with the chart that matches the product you are buying.

Match the Measurement

Use a flexible tape measure and compare your measurement to the chart. Do not pull the tape too tightly when measuring your hand, head, chest, waist, or leg.

Consider Position and Fit

For baseball and softball gloves, position matters. Infield, outfield, first base, and catcher’s gear may require different sizing preferences.

Review the Product Page

Before ordering, check the product detail page for series-specific fit notes, available size options, age level, hand orientation, or style details.

Measuring Tips

  • For batting gloves, measure from the base of the palm to the top of the middle finger.
  • For helmets, measure around the head just above the ears or about one inch above the eyebrows, depending on the helmet style.
  • For chest protectors, measure from the bottom of the throat or collarbone to just past the navel area.
  • For leg guards, measure from the center of the knee to the top of the foot.
  • For pants, measure around the waist above the top of the hip bone, where a belt is normally worn.
  • For shirts, jerseys, and women’s apparel, measure under the arms across the back muscles and chest.

Between-Sizes Advice

If your measurement falls between two sizes, think about how you want the item to fit. For a closer fit, choose the smaller size if it does not feel restrictive. For more room, layering, or growing space, choose the larger size. Protective equipment should feel secure and should not shift during play.
